hotel gypsy

Once upon a time there was a traveling, sparkling, makeup loving gypsy named Ashley.  She never stayed in one place too long; always moving from one hotel to the next.  One might say she called each one her home.  Her journeys took her all around the globe, racking up many a frequent flyer mile along the way. She loved to see what the world had to offer, but oftentimes found it hard to sit still.  Her life was a whirlwind, usually leaving her dizzy when it finally slowed for a moment.  One night in a far away hotel in a far away place called Seoul, she was struck by the evil villian of boredom.  Not one to go down without a fight, Ashley was determined to be entertained.  After hours of watching an America’s Next Top Model marathon…she sat down in front of her mirror mirror on the hotel wall.  Her makeup brushes became her weapon against the villian, who was no match for creativity’s powers.  She painted up her face, teased her hair to the tallest mountains, and adorned it with a tiny top hat she purchased in the hotel gift shop earlier that day.  She decided to turn her hotel room into a one woman photo shoot.  Not having a model would not stand in her way.  She would be her own model, photographer, lighting tech and creative director.  With a little help from the furry blanket from her bed as a backdrop, and a self timer on her camera, the evil boredom was dead, and all was right in the faraway hotel room in the faraway place.  Ashley was one crazy gypsy…she even decided to stick her head into the lampshade as a lighting technique. ( do not try this at home kids)  She was content.  After a couple hours of entertaining herself, Ashley washed her face, ordered roomservice, and crawled into bed.  Here is the beauty story of a bored hotel gypsy.

again…please don’t take my pictures 🙂

…and she lived happily ever after.

YAY! Great story! I LOVE pics 3, 10,11, and 12. I was wondering where you got that hat. Seemed like an odd thing to pack for a world tour.

Can’t wait until you all are home safe and sound, but still loving the road reports.

aww Ash, you’re beautiful. I’d post pics of myself too if I looked like that 🙂 Are you growling in the pic with the hair in your mouth? grrr.

and I hope I don’t offend, but if you painted a white/black funky star on one eye in the second to last one with the net on your face….you might’ve looked a little like Gaga, hehe.

Thanks for the blog. At least you know it’s not long before y’all get to go HOME!! 😀 Hopefully some of the band still have dry homes *prays*

Cause she’s a curious cat… that’s what the lamp shade reminds me of. LOL

I have an eight year-old daughter who would probably die to be your guinea pig (ahem, model) one of these bored times, I am pretty sure. And since I don’t know Adam (or Eve) about make-up, you might consider it a public service. Of course, she is not allowed to wear make-up outside the home until she is at least fifty, but it would still be better than her learning all about make-up from one of her dad’s gay friends, I’m thinking. 🙂

    Creativity born of boredom!!!

My favorite pic is this one:

When i see it, something attracts my look.
This pic makes me think about Katy Perry on her “Thinking Of You” clip. This pic emphasize your lips whereas the first one emphasize your pretty eyes.

What study did you follow to arrive at this success? How many times do you arrives to succeed to make that? I’m curious. If you don’t want to answered that i’ll understand.

Sorry for my bad english, i’m french so my first langage is french but i hope one day speak english like i speak french.

Have a nice day, enjoy your talent. I really like it. Even i prefer draw clothes on a paper, play with different look/appearence, i’m interresting at makeup.
But it’s not absolutely my priority because right now i’m on training for coming a “éducateur spécialisé” (maybe we could translate by “special-needs worker”.) I’ll work with people who have disadvantage/handicap.

It’s funny because in France we said “L’habit ne fait pas le moine” (= “Clothes don’t make the man”) although it’s a little wrong because with some clothes and some makeup we could become another person.

Look, (i don’t judge) Katy Perry (whose i like her music and her eccentricity personality) without make up, she isn’t Katy perry anymore but just Miss Perry.

Makeup and clothes for a designer is like a paper and a pen for a writers. Sometimes life could bring people some magic.

I hope don’t bother you. In any case i appreciate watch your job, because it permit me to watch some other work than “fashion make up artist”!! In fact, according to me, you’re not a make up artist, you’re better: You’re a real artist because with nothing you succeed to create some trend. Maybe the best tools to create is precisely don’t have any tools!? I should stop to jabber on this.

All the best to you in the future,

from a french fan who have creativity to spare =)
